Brewery Lane and Warren Street Practices merged on 1st September 2005, to become The New Brewery lane Surgery. The Practice serves people in Thornhill, Thornhill Lees, Savile Town and surrounding areas.

On the 21st March 2016 we opened our new health care centre to replace our branch surgery in Warren Street.

Our Team is made up of four GPs, two practice nurses, two healthcare assistants, one midwife and a network of community nurses as well as our reception and administrative team.

The practice continues to operate with restrictions as advised by the government and NHS England.  Date 1st december 2021

We're asking all patient's to arrive on time, alone and wearing a face covering when attending our practice. We've already changed the way we work to make it easier for you to come into the surgery when you need to.

Our staff wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including face masks and aprons, we have protective screens in our waiting areas and wherever possible social distancing guidelines are maintained.

By observing all of the above you are helping to reduce the risk of spreading Coronavirus and keeping our practice safe.

Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.

The symptoms of coronavirus are:

- a cough

- a high temperature

- shortness of breath

The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu and it does not necessarily mean you have the illness.

Do NOT go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital

NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can be accessed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

Use this service if:

- you think you might have coronavirus

- you've recently been to a country or area with high risk of coronavirus

- you've been in close contact with someone with coronavirus

Information for the public is available at gov.uk/coronavirus & https://www/nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19

GP Online Services

We've introduced an online consultation service so you don't always need to come into the practice to get our medical expertise.

You can input your symptoms online and will receive a response - usually that day, if a request is received within the Online Consultation daily request times.

You will either be given advice, directed to other sources of support such as pharmacy, receive a telephone consultation or if necessary booked in for an appointment.

You will also have access to reliable and trustworthy self-help generic information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that may help you to avoid an appointment altogether.

Its easy to get started, just try it and you might save yourself time and a journey, click on the picture below to try the service.

If you do not want your patient data shared with NHS Digital, you can register a Type 1 Opt-out with your GP practice. You can register a Type 1 Opt-out at any time. You can also change your mind at any time and withdraw a Type 1 Opt-out.

Data sharing with NHS Digital will start on 1 July 2021.

You can send the form by post or email to your GP practice or call 0300 3035678 for a form to be sent out to you.

If you do not want NHS Digital to share your identifiable patient data (personally identifiable data in the diagram above) with anyone else for purposes beyond your own care, then you can also register a National Data Opt-out.
